1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Tithe Lending, LLC (“Tithe Lending,” “we,” “us”) is a mortgage company, NMLS ID 2439006, located at 240 S. State Street, WE18, Westerville, OH 43081. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information safely and responsibly.
This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect information through our website, phone lines, text messages and email. It applies to visitors to tithelending.com and to anyone who contacts us.
If you apply for a mortgage loan, you will also receive our Privacy Notice required by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). That notice governs how we handle the nonpublic personal information in your loan file and explains your right to limit certain sharing. If anything in this policy conflicts with that notice, the Privacy Notice controls.
2. Information we collect
- Contact information you give us, such as your name, email address, phone number and mailing address.
- Mortgage inquiry information, such as the property, loan amount, loan purpose and estimated credit range you share when you contact us.
- Communications, including call records, voicemails, text messages and emails exchanged with us.
- Website usage information, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring site, collected through cookies and similar tools.
We do not take mortgage applications through this website. Applications are submitted through our secure point-of-sale system, where you will receive our GLBA Privacy Notice.
3. How we use your information
- Respond to your inquiries and provide the mortgage services you request.
- Contact you by phone, email or text message about your inquiry or loan.
- Send updates and promotional offers, where permitted and with your consent. You can opt out at any time (see Section 6).
- Improve our website and services.
- Detect and prevent fraud and protect the security of our systems.
- Comply with federal and state law, including record-keeping, reporting and regulatory examinations.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
We share information only as needed to provide our services and as the law requires or allows:
- Service providers that help us originate and close your loan, such as credit reporting agencies, appraisers, title and settlement agents, insurance providers, and the technology vendors that run our loan, CRM and phone systems. They may use your information only to perform services for us.
- Lenders, investors and servicers involved in funding, purchasing or servicing your loan.
- Government agencies and regulators, including state licensing authorities and federal agencies, for examinations, reporting and legal compliance.
- Legal and safety purposes, such as responding to subpoenas or court orders, preventing fraud, or protecting our rights.
- A business transfer, such as a merger or sale of our business, subject to this policy.
The GLBA Privacy Notice you receive when you apply describes this sharing in detail and any choices you have to limit it.
5. Text messaging (SMS)
We send text messages through two programs. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of obtaining a loan or any other service.
Customer messages. If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, a Tithe Lending representative may text you about your inquiry, application or loan, and, where you have agreed, about products and offers. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply.
Internal Call Alerts. Tithe Lending sends automated text alerts to its own employees about calls and voicemails received on our toll-free marketing lines (844-688-5363 and 855-505-5397). Each alert contains the caller’s phone number and, if a voicemail is left, a transcript. These alerts go only to Tithe Lending employees; we do not text callers, customers or real estate agents through this program. Employees opt in voluntarily by asking our administrator to add the mobile number they want alerts sent to, and receive this confirmation: “Tithe Lending: You’re subscribed to internal call alerts. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.” Message frequency varies with call volume.
Opting out and getting help. For either program, reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts; we will send one confirmation and no further messages. Reply HELP for help, or call (614) 407-5577 or email info@tithelending.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your mobile information is not shared. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
6. Your choices
- Text messages: reply STOP at any time (see Section 5).
- Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We may still send messages about an active loan.
- Phone calls: ask us to stop calling and we will add you to our internal Do Not Call list. We honor the National Do Not Call Registry for marketing calls.
- Cookies: set your browser to refuse or delete cookies. Some site features may not work without them.
Opting out of marketing does not stop messages required to process or service your loan.
7. Security of your information
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, consistent with the FTC Safeguards Rule. Access to borrower information is limited to employees and service providers who need it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We retain records for the periods required by federal and state law.
8. Children’s privacy
Our services are not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Links to other websites
Our website may link to sites we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be posted on this page before they take effect.
